You'll have to excuse us about being a little off the ball over the past week when it comes to getting our features up and posted. It seems the cold bug is making it's rounds through our house and it's felled the lot of us one by one.
I think this is a terrific time, though, to re-visit the importance of moisture. Moisture in your home is important as it helps keep sinuses healthy and the body hearty, but there are other types of moisture that are just as important.
In my house, my sister and I are both French-Korean in descent and we have a color of skin that's very similar to creamed coffee. With a darker skin tone and Anglo genes mixed in, we have the kind of skin that dries easily as well. My sister and I both have extremely sensitive skin and when it dries, it looks like a chalk board in that you can make white lines on it by dragging the skin.
We solve this by using homeopathic solutions. Things like Honey Oatmeal soap to soothe the skin and Shea Butter rich creams and lotions to help keep the skin moisturized.
That's what today's feature shop offers as well. SandyVern on Etsy is a shop that's filled with a variety of cold process, molded decorative and other types of handmade soaps, whipped Shea butter, bath bombs and other terrific and helpful beauty products to keep you clean and moisturized naturally without all the perfumes and unnecessary chemicals that are added into commercial brand soaps and lotions.
Their soaps are made from scratch using the old-fashioned cold process method of combining various oils, butters and lye in just the right amounts to create a luxurious soap and all of their soaps are created small batches to ensure precise quality control over the entire process.
Their molded soaps are also all natural, made from a combination of quality goat's milk and Shea butter, oatmeal and honey bases. They are great not just for personal use but also make great gifts for use as party favors, wedding shower favors, etc.
With "flavors" and scents of soap from Oats & Honey to Almond Joy, Blueberry Crunch, Vanilla and more, you're sure to find one you'll love and I can't recommend Shea butter enough for those with dry skin needing a little extra moisture in these winter months.
