Seattle in the Fall and Steve Raley Photography - A Rare Post by Leal
I live in Seattle and I think that Fall is, without a doubt, the best time of year in this part of the country. Not because of changing leaves like people rave about on the east coast or even cooler temperatures, which are a blessing when they finally arrive.
I like fall because of the smells of the city in the fall. Seattle's wet.
Surrounded by inlets and canals and sheltered in the east and north by mountains, Seattle gets a -lot- of rainfall. Statistically, downtown Seattle averages 58 clear (sunny) days a year, with most of those days occurring between May and September. And once the clouds roll in and the air returns to being cool and moist, it smells different.
The scents are clean and crisp. Moist and earthy. These scents dampen the industrial scents of commerce and exhaust that come with city living and accentuate the more natural scents of trees, vegetation, moist soil and sea air.
Today's shop has a variety of photos of the city I love living in, especially in the Fall. Steve Raley, the photographer behind PhotoGrunt on Etsy, is a talented photographer who clearly also enjoys cities and Seattle. He has a number of photos of the area from urban photos to signage, architecture, transportation and more.
Steve is a truly talented photographer from Redmond, Washington with a variety of color photos as well as black and whites offered in his shop. He even has some outdoor pieces that bring back some terrific childhood memories both of Washington state as well as British Columbia, Canada.
If you have a chance, I highly recommend stopping by Steve Raley's shop on Etsy and taking a look around. You're sure to enjoy the browse and if you've ever wanted to see a taste of what this corner of the world is like, his photos are sure to give a little of the local flavor to enjoy.

Felt Appliqued Pillows by Ketche on Etsy
Today's shop is a small one, but you'll love it all the same. I know I did the minute I stepped in and took a look around. I'm not usually a fan of felt applique outside of children's clothes, but Ketche on Etsy has changed my mind.
When I saw this cat pillow (pictured here in this post) it immediately made me laugh and I had to check out the shop it had come from. What I found when I opened up the shop kept that smile the cat had spurred going.
Ketche on Etsy has a handful of adorable pillows and pillow covers with lots of personality and color. There's lots of personality and creativity in this shop that you definitely won't want to miss, especially if you're looking for that perfect quirky accent to any room in your home.
Levent, the shop owner of Ketche, designs his pillows covers with 100% cotton fabric and are then decorated with felt made 100% from post-consumer plastic water bottles. The pillows are then filled with non-allergenic poly-fill.
And, if you don't see exactly what you're looking for in his shop, he also does custom orders! (I love shops that are open to custom requests.)

You can also visit with Levent from Ketche on Twitter!
